Your privacy is important to GovDirections, LLC (“GovDirections”, “we”, or “us”). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal information when you use govdirections.com and related services.

1. Acceptance of Privacy Policy

Please read the GovDirections Terms of Service carefully before using our Service. This Privacy Policy is part of those Terms of Service.

By creating a GovDirections account, or by otherwise accessing or using the Service, you expressly consent to the data practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Service immediately.

2. Changes to This Policy

We will notify you of material changes by posting the amended terms on the Service at least ten (10) days before the effective date. If you do not agree to the new terms, you may terminate your account by contacting us at customercare@govdirections.com within that period.

3. Personal Information We Collect

Personal Information is any information that identifies you personally, such as your name, email, phone number, or address. We may collect:

  • Account Information — email address, password, and profile details you provide when registering.
  • Optional Profile Data — physical address, industry preferences, state preferences, and business type (not required to use the Service).
  • Device & Usage Information — browser type, IP address, device ID, page views, traffic statistics, and standard web log data.
  • SMS / Text Messaging — if you opt in to SMS alerts, your mobile number is used solely to send you those alerts. SMS We do not share your mobile number or SMS opt-in data with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

We use cookies, pixel tags, and similar technologies to understand how users interact with the Service. Information collected may include pages visited, time spent, IP address, and browser/OS details.

First-Party Cookies are set by GovDirections directly. Third-Party Cookies are set by partners such as Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate usage patterns; we do not use it to identify you personally. You may opt out via the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Your Cookie Choices:

Do Not Track: Our sites do not currently process DNT signals as no uniform standard has been adopted.

5. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide access to the Service and fulfill your requests
  • Send bid alert emails and SMS notifications you have opted into
  • Personalize and improve our services and content
  • Analyze usage patterns and generate aggregate reports
  • Prevent fraud and enforce our Terms of Service
  • Contact you with relevant promotional information (you may opt out at any time)
  • Comply with legal obligations

6. Sharing With Third Parties

SMS Data: GovDirections does not share, sell, or rent your mobile phone number or any personal information collected through SMS messaging with third parties for their marketing purposes. SMS opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.

We may share your information with:

  • Service Providers — contractors who operate or support the Service on our behalf, under confidentiality obligations.
  • Business Transfers — in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to the successor entity.
  • Law Enforcement — when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of GovDirections, our users, or the public.

We do not sell your personal information to data brokers or third-party advertisers.

7. Data Security

GovDirections takes reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access. However, no internet transmission is fully secure. You submit information at your own risk and should use caution when sharing sensitive data online.

8. Accessing & Managing Your Information

You may update your account information by logging in and editing your profile. To request deletion of your account and associated data, contact us at customercare@govdirections.com. We will take reasonable steps to fulfill deletion requests as required by applicable law.

California residents under 18 who are registered users may request removal of content they posted by contacting us with a description of the content to be removed.

9. AI & Data Training Opt-Out New

GovDirections does not license or sell your personal information to AI companies for use in training large language models (LLMs) or other artificial intelligence systems.

Our public bid listing pages (govdirections.com/rfp/) are accessible to AI web crawlers for the purpose of indexing and surfacing GovDirections in AI-powered search results. This indexing covers publicly available bid information only — it does not include your personal account data, email address, or any information you provided during registration.

If you wish to opt out of having your publicly visible profile information (if any) included in AI crawler indexes, please contact us at customercare@govdirections.com with the subject line AI Opt-Out Request.

10. Children’s Privacy

GovDirections is not intended for children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 without verifiable parental consent. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately at customercare@govdirections.com.

11. International Users

The Service is operated in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to, processed, and stored in the United States. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.

12. Retention of Information

We retain information for active accounts as long as necessary for our operations. Information from closed accounts may be retained to comply with legal obligations, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, and enforce our Terms of Service.

13. California Residents (CCPA / CPRA) CA

This section applies to California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).

Categories of personal information we collect include: identifiers (name, email, IP address); commercial information (services purchased); internet activity (browsing/search history on our site); geolocation (if enabled); and inferences about preferences.

Your Rights:

  • Right to Know — request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you in the preceding 12 months.
  • Right to Delete — request deletion of personal information we have collected, subject to certain exceptions.
  • Right to Correct — request correction of inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to Opt-Out of Sale/Sharing — we do not sell personal information; however, certain sharing with partners may qualify as a “sale” under CCPA. To opt out, email customercare@govdirections.com.
  • Right Against Discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
  • Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information — we do not collect sensitive personal information as defined by CPRA beyond what is necessary to operate the Service.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at customercare@govdirections.com. We may verify your identity before processing your request. You may designate an authorized agent to submit requests on your behalf with written proof of authorization.

For a “California Shine the Light” request regarding third-party direct marketing disclosures, email us with the subject line California Shine the Light Request along with your mailing address and state of residence. Limit: one request per year, at no charge.

14. Nevada Residents NV

Pursuant to Nevada law, Nevada residents may direct us not to sell personal information we collect to third parties. To submit an opt-out request, email customercare@govdirections.com. We may verify your identity before processing the request.
